Bangladesh will begin their campaign at the 2027 Men's Cricket World Cup against England at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek on 8 October 2027, under the fixture list the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on 1 October 2026.
The 14-team tournament, hosted jointly by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, runs from 2 October to 21 November 2027. Hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe qualified automatically, along with the top eight sides in the ICC men's ODI team rankings at the 30 September 2026 cut-off. Bangladesh are among those eight. The last four places will be decided at a qualifying tournament.
Bangladesh's group matches
Bangladesh are in Group B with New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England and a team still to come through qualifying, listed as Qualifier B. Their schedule is:
- 8 October: England, Windhoek
- 12 October: New Zealand, KuGompo City
- 16 October: Sri Lanka, Durban
- 19 October: South Africa, Durban
- 23 October: Qualifier B, Tshwane
A new format
The 12 group-stage teams are split into two groups of six. The top three in each group, plus the better of the two fourth-placed sides, move into a new Super 7 phase, where no points are carried forward and each team plays six more matches between 25 October and 14 November.
The ICC has pre-assigned some teams to Super 7 slots so that fans can plan travel. It said that if a team that was not pre-seeded qualifies in place of one that was, it takes over that team's slot. Using Bangladesh as its example, the ICC said that if Bangladesh reach the Super 7 and Sri Lanka do not, Bangladesh would play Australia in Johannesburg on 25 October.
The top four after the Super 7 stage go into the semi-finals in Cape Town on 17 November and Tshwane on 18 November. The final is in Johannesburg on 21 November, with a reserve day the next day.
Tickets and venues
Twelve venues will be used: eight in South Africa, three in Zimbabwe and one in Namibia. The ICC has opened a ticket ballot, with prices from about US$9.62 for entry-level seats to US$31.31 for the biggest matches, as well as family, student and pensioner options.
ICC chairman Jay Shah said the schedule and the ticket ballot were major milestones and that the council wanted the event to be affordable and open to as many fans as possible.
Bangladesh will play two of their five group matches in Durban, and their opener is one of three group games, plus the three Super Series matches, set for the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek.
